C. Bond:

I have a word for you today. Yes, one word, not a phrase, not multiple sentences, just one simple, important, impactful word. This word can inspire you to have motivation, it sparks conversation and it can help you reach your destination. I like that, but it is the truth. This one word can really help you to be successful and it has the potential to be the reason you are successful.

C. Bond:

This word is a word that we don't use to our benefit as we should. We seem to shun away from it more than we should as well. We don't utilize it, we don't take it to heart, we don't apply it when we need it the most, and that word is wait, simply wait, w-a-i-t. In this podcast, I want to talk about how important it is to wait. I want to talk about how we should wait, how you should wait when you should wait, because when you know those three things by default, you will know when to move. But let's start with having a clear definition of what wait means. So, I want to give you the Miriam Webster's definition of wait and I want to give you the biblical definition of wait and we're going to see how those two compare and how you can apply it to your life. The Miriam Webster's definition of wait is to stay in place in expectation, to look forward expectantly, and the third one was to hold back expectantly, and that simply means just to wait for your chance to strike. The biblical definition of wait is similar. Wait means to collect. Figuratively, to expect, to gather together, look patiently, wait, to wait for, to wait on or to wait upon. I gave you the definition for the word wait because I want you to see how important it is to utilize waiting in your strategy to be successful.

C. Bond:

So let's start off with number one. Have you ever had an opportunity that would have been so great that it would have set you up for future success? Or you could have used that to get new clients, to break your way into a new field, to be successful, to make your name known, to start your business, or you had a contract that came your way and this contract was everything you wanted. You was able to negotiate it, or you didn't have to negotiate it at all. It came to you in a package that was so beautifully presented that you knew this was the right move for you. But then it fell through and you were crushed, you were hurt, you was left with more questions than answers.

C. Bond:

How do you bounce back from that? What do you do? I'm here to tell you To wait and I want to tell you how you should wait. I am not encouraging you to wait on another person. I'm not encouraging you to wait for that opportunity. I'm not encouraging you to go chase that opportunity. I'm encouraging you to do what the Bible says to do In Isaiah, chapter 40, verse 31,. It says but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint. So I want to talk about how do you wait upon the Lord. You sit in expectation. I'm not telling you not to go out and try again. I'm not telling you to stay busy. I'm not telling you not to have faith. Yes, please, by all means, have faith.

C. Bond:

The waiting is important because that is where your faith, where your strength, can get renewed. Some of your questions of why it didn't happen may be answered, and let me just say this. This is strictly my opinion. Sometimes, when things fall apart that we wanted, that we thought we would get, it's because life began to challenge us. Life began to throw at us obstacles that we did not foresee. Life began to fight back or challenge you. And life begins to fight back because life will not open up for those who give up. So if you wait, even if it doesn't look like it, you won't give up. You will still wait with expectation. You will look and see beyond where you are, but you can confidently, you can securely wait with an expectation that all door didn't happen the last time. It can happen this time.

C. Bond:

It is important to wait because in the waiting is where you get your new ideas, is where you get your strength. In the waiting is where you are comforted. In the waiting is where you let go of all the negativity, all the bitterness, all the hurt, all the shame. And I say shame because we told other people that when it doesn't work out, we're ashamed. So in the waiting is where you get rid of the shame. In the waiting is where you realize that that is not the end of your life. So waiting is important because it strengthens you. Waiting gives you confidence. Waiting gives you the time you need to adjust your vision, to adjust your plans, to adjust your ideas, to come up with new ideas. Waiting gives you the courage you need to try again. That's why waiting is important Number two how to wait.

C. Bond:

Well, the how to wait is tied to the who you're waiting for, and that's the Lord. So how do you wait on the Lord? It's to simply let go and relax. Let go and relax, let go of everything else. Stop talking about it, stop reliving that moment over and over and over and just release it. Don't go looking for the people or calling the people who had the power to make your dream come true, but didn't Let it go.

C. Bond:

And while you're relaxing, begin to talk, begin to talk to yourself, begin to talk to God, begin to just talk about this to you feel better, because talking about things oftentimes releases the negative energy, releases the hurt, the bitterness, the pain that is associated with what you are talking about. I'm not encouraging you to talk about it with friends or other people. I'm encouraging you to talk about it to yourself and to God, because while you're waiting, you begin to get clarity. Now you know how to sit and to look and expect that this opportunity may have passed, but another one will come. Now, in your relaxed state, with a mind that's clear, you can begin to look forward to the next opportunity that's coming. You begin to look forward to the next time you will have the opportunity to show what you can do, because you've been made stronger.

C. Bond:

God is giving you strength in your waiting. He's giving you strength in your relaxing time. He's giving you new ideas. He's giving you more courage. He's giving you understanding. He's giving you insight, while you are simply waiting and expecting him to come through for you.

C. Bond:

So the way you wait is to simply relax and expect the best. And let me add to that you expect the best because you see beyond where you are. It's in the waiting. The waiting is your therapy, the waiting is your massage. The waiting is the waiting is where you release all the pressure. It's in the waiting.

C. Bond:

Number three when to wait? Some of the best times to wait is when things have gone bad, when things are good and when you just don't know what to do. Those are three of the best times to wait, because when you don't know what to do and you move, that's when you make the biggest mistakes. So, rather than make a huge mistake, simply wait. If you've just gotten out of a bad relationship or you've been let go from your job, wait. That's a good time to wait Now. Understand this.

C. Bond:

I'm not telling you not to apply to other jobs or not to apply yourself, just to relax and do nothing. That's not what I'm telling you. That's not what I'm encouraging you to do. I'm encouraging you to wait in a relaxed state, but be expecting that the good is going to come. Be expecting that you will get another opportunity that may be even bigger than the one that passed you or the one that didn't work out. You have to expect that things are going to work out for you.

C. Bond:

When you wait, you get to expect bigger, better and more, because in that scripture that I mentioned earlier, isaiah 40, verse 31, promises you four things in your waiting. Number one but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, meaning they will get fresh strength, fresh energy. You have to recognize that you've lost some energy, that you've lost some strength. This is the first step in waiting, and it is to have your strength renewed. Number two they shall mount up with wings as eagles. All this means is that you have this ability in you to soar. And all God is saying is that if you spread that confidence, spread that knowhow, spread that knowledge out, you will soar like eagles.

C. Bond:

Number three they shall run and not be weary. You have the opportunity to run and catch up to the opportunity that you missed. Or you can run past the last opportunity, and you will not get tired because your strength has already been renewed. Now you have the ability to chase after your dreams. Now you can run, and you won't get tired. And number four they shall walk and not faint. Now you're walking with the opportunity, you won't lag behind anymore. You will be side by side, walking in harmony with your opportunity. Now that you know how important it is to wait, how to wait, when to wait, just knowing that when you do those things, you will know when to move. Your instincts will kick in. But give yourself time to wait. I challenge you to wait. You've been listening to See Beyond Where You Are with C. Bond, until next time, remember, life doesn't open up for those who quickly give up!
